Have you been keeping up at all with recent events my friend, please check this post out.

Mormons know nothing of persecution, (you didnt say that word but it often comes up) for more on this and how the Christian church is flourishing, please go here.

Funnily enough where there is this type of thing their faith grows stronger too (what else do they have) is that interesting?

thanks a lot I hope you can see from the updates regarding our outreach at the pageant that our approach has been loving and respectful, I appreciate your point about feeding the homeless. If it makes you feel better people in the
UK doing what we do are an absolute minority, but God cares for all people whether rich in wealth or poor, weather rich in spirit or poor. If someone is dead in their sins and lost they are no better off than the homeless and poor in the long run.

thanks

Firstly, “I look at the Bible and see Jesus teaching His gospel. He’s not actually attacking others. Just teaching what is truth. So firstly, you are not teaching/preaching the way the Saviour did.”

In fact, Jesus did speak up and ‘call a spade a spade’ when he saw truth being attacked and hypocrisy at work. Just read Matthew 23:23-39 He clearly felt it was important to point out when people were in error and deceiving others.

Secondly, you asked these questions: “What does your church do for the homeless? the hungry? How much time do you give in service to others? How much of your own money do you invest in going into the world and trying to teach people about the Saviour.” Why are you focusing on these questions? The purpose of this blog is to point out doctrinal differences between the LDS faith and Biblically-based Christianity. Bobby hasn’t written anything that criticises Mormons treating others with kindness, charity and love. The criticism and debate focuses on what Mormons believe and what the Bible teaches. The concern is over presenting the truth that can be found in the person of Jesus, not how many good works people do.

Finally, on a similar theme you say: “There is absolutely no need to try and pull Latter Day Saints away from their faith. They are good people and do a lot of good things.” If this is what gives LDS members hope and assurance then there certainly is a need for a discussion to be had. The Bible is clear that it is through faith in the sacrifice made by Jesus upon the cross that we are to be saved. This is where our assurance can come from, not from doing ‘a lot of good things’. No-one is criticising LDS people for the good that they do, what is being put under the microscope is the belief system of the LDS church and whether that corresponds to the claims made by Jesus about himself and by those who walked and talked with him as found in the Bible.

But why do you feel the need to try and persuade them that they are wrong? Wouldn’t it be better if you just tried to preach your beliefs to those who do not have a knowledge of the Saviour.

I look at the Bible and see Jesus teaching His gospel. He’s not actually attacking others. Just teaching what is truth. So firstly, you are not teaching/preaching the way the Saviour did. Why do you feel such a need to stand against one particular church? Do you preach against the Catholic church for instance? How many Gospel doctrines have they altered for their own purpose? Do you rally against the Jehovah’s Witnesses? What about other faiths? Why is it so important that you stand against this particular church. Could it be that they actually have something other churches don’t? My experience with LDS people is that they are more Christlike than many others who claim the title of Christians. They are not perfect, and don’t claim to be, but they concentrate on teaching their beliefs and then offer one a simple challenge. “This is what we believe, but don’t take our word for it. Pray about it.”

There can be only one reason that there are anti Mormon campaigners. That reason is that Satan doesn’t want them around. And why would that be I wonder.

What does your church do for the homeless? the hungry? How much time do you give in service to others? How much of your own money do you invest in going into the world and trying to teach people about the Saviour.

Maybe you should switch focus and rather than try to obstruct one church, just try to serve others and give of your substance in order to help those less fortunate than you, whether because of their circumstances or knowledge. There is absolutely no need to try and pull Latter Day Saints away from their faith. They are good people and do a lot of good things. If the church isn’t what it says it is, well frankly they will get the blessings for all the good they do in the world. If, on the other hand, it is what they say it is, you are in big trouble!

What I have gathered is that the more people attack the Mormon church, the stronger their faith grows. Interesting.

Reg

I’d love to go there next year. and meet you all depending upon resources. This year, during the last 2 weeks of June while you were in Manti, I was going door to door in Taylorville & Bountiful, suburbs of SLC with the ministry Truth in Love to Mormons (TILM).
